A few quick nuggets and I'm off on vacation!

I fear I'll never shake the name "pooper", but I still appreciate listener Kristen for recommending that I have Lindsey find me a new nickname at cornynames.com/

And speaking of listener suggestions, our discussion about engaged couples this morning inspired Rob and Sharon to drop me a line about ourbigwish.com .

It's a very 2006 idea. Couples register there and instead of asking thier friends for juicers and George Foreman grill for thier wedding gifts that ask for cash to use as a housedown-payment or other huge life expense. It's a classy way of saying "keep your bakeware set Aunt Judy, break me off that Chedda!!!"

Thanks for the hot suggestions...if you know of a nugget of awesomeness somewhere, please give me heads up at aj@channel933.com .

And finally, for the person who's so "fashion-foward" they want to bling even when they're macing someone in the face I give you:

www.pepperface.com

They make designer pepperspray canisters that have more gleem than Paul Wall's Grill.

Enjoy the show next week. Kalvin and Geena will be there live so it will be a good mix of "Best of" clips and live segments. So you can hear our interviews with Justin Timberlake, Will Ferrel, and the Wayans Brothers, classic editions of "Who's Being Lame", song parodies, stunts etc, along with live editions of The Big Scoop, Geena's Blog, new Parodies, Sienna on the Streets, Nicks Fashion segment, Why You Smiling and more.

Thank you for listening to the show. Because of you I'm in the incredible position of heading off on vacation knowing that I have a job that I SINCERELY look foward to coming back to.

Be back on Tuesday September 6th!

Whoa, people were freakin fired up about the racially driven concept for the next season of Survivor!

I haven't seen people this freaked out about a cast seperation since they took most of the original Bayside High girls away from Saved By The Bell: The College Years.

Of course there was also seious debate over the Forbes article about Why Men Shouldn't Date Career Women.

If you want to discuss either of these or anything else about the show don't forget about The Playhouse Message Board .

And now...today's Nuggets of Awesomeness:

www.freecycle.org is a cool spot to give away you own junk or maybe even get someone else's for free. Instead of dragging that old bookcase out in front of your place and hoping it gets taken, post it on freecycle. There are over 10,000 members in San Diego, so you should have no trouble making a match!

I'm a dog lover...but this is beyond ridiculous:

A company in Japan has begun offering meals created to be enjoyed by you and your dog. Together. Like a date. If seems to me that if you wanted to spend money trying to impress someone with a meal it's a bit wasted on someone who happily eats thier own vomit.

"Fullfillment"is a game that game seems simple but it's not and it may soon drive me insane. Don't get mad when you're hooked like a crackhead.

Quick reminder before my final nugget: we've got stars from Laguna Beach and The Hills in the Playhouse. We'll get you on the air for "Why You Smiling" at 7:45 and play your jams when we Flush The Format at 9am.

To wrap things up I'm gonna go and have an Oprah moment on you. The story of the father/son team known as Team Hoyt are amazing.

Watch thier video, read thier Story, and check out thier web site . I'm sure you'll be as moved as I was.

Have you seen the Denzel Washington movie John Q? It's one of my all time favorites and it's not just because it's a good movie. My dad told me to watch it. We talk every Sunday and one week he said "I saw a movie and I want you to see it. I've never been able to put into words what it's like to be a dad or what I'd do for you and your brothers, but that movie says it perfectly." I bought the movie watched it, and thought about my dad and fatherhood in a way I never had. It quickly became one of my favorite movies. I haven't watched it since. I'm not a fan of crying.

Dads are awesome.

AJ here. You may have found this blog through my MySpace or by listening to my radio show AJ's Playhouse mornings on Channel 933 San Diego. An obvious first question is "AJ you already have four hours a day to babble on the radio, what could you possibly have left to say in a blog?

Two part answer:

#1- "babble?" that hurts.

#2- Plenty. I spend a lot of time each day preparing my next days show (I know your're shocked..Imagine how bad it would be if I didn't work hard on it) and every day I run across a few things that wouldn't make good radio but would make good blog. This will be a chance for me to pass those nuggets on to you, answer your questions, and give you some insight into my life and my show. So let's get on with it.

First order of business: my blog title is LAME. How embarrassing. Please send me a great title idea and if I choose yours I'll reward you with a prize. These first few posts are going to be a practice run for me, I will really "launch" this thing when I get back from my upcoming vacation on Tuesday August 30th. I will unveil my (or hopefully your) awesome official blog name then.

Now, on to the nuggets of awesomeness:

I wish I found these:

..earlier so I could have thrown them on my I-Pod on my trip! They are by far the hottest looking I-pod "skins" I've seen and you don't have to remove them to put them in a dock. Check out the large variety of designs, all created by artists at: http://www.gelaskins.com/

Spend some time rating (and in most cases mocking) peoples' prize "grills"at: http://www.seemygrill.com/ . The best part? Most of the pics are 15 year olds that clearly think they're cooler than they are! Ladies try to resist this guy:

Final nugget. This is a great video of P Diddy. Yes he's drunk, but that's not what makes if rule. He's talking ish about how he's the most legit spokesperson for "Pro-active." Really. Awesome!

I hope you give me some feedback on this blog idea. In the meantime it should be a good show tomorrow morning. Louis CK is a funny comedian who used to write for Conan O'Brian and has created a big buzz with his HBO Show "Lucky Louie"..we're talking to him at 6:35. At 7:35 a Blender magazine editor shares their "Hot in o6" list (I know Ashlee Simpson's new nose and www.TMZ.com both made the list but I'm curious about the #1! If you already miss "Will and Grace" tune in at 7..Leslie Jordan will be in the Playhouse. We also have "Who's Being Lame" at 7:45 (e-mail me now if you want to have us use your situation) , an ebony vs. Ivory re-match at 8:15 and I'm especially excited about Geena's Blog at 8:40 (if you heard about the Ex boyfriend party situation today you know why..I want an update!! And we'll want you to tell us what you've done in order to purposely get dumped in the 9 o'clock hour!

Be Good!
